NanoTECH Research Area Affiliations
Research interests concern the processing and physical properties of polymer matrix composite materials with specific emphasis on nanocomposites. The excess interfacial area provided by nanoscale fillers, such as carbon nanotubes and inorganic nanoparticles, is used to create composite materials with novel properties. Topics in her research include solid freeform fabrication of composite materials reinforced by isotropic and anisotropic nanoparticles, in situ modification of nanocomposite interfaces, nanofiller functionalization strategies for dispersion and load transfer, and synergistic nanofiller interactions.
