Research Summary
Dr. Deng’s research interests focus on nanomaterial synthesis and self-assembling, nanocomposites, colloid and surface science, and papermaking and paper recycling. The applications of nanomaterials and nanocomposites in forest products are also active research areas in Deng’s group. Different encapsulation techniques have been used for the preparation of core-shell nanomaterials and nanostructured sol-gel synthesis for preparing nanoporous thin films and barrier coating is also being studied.
