Poster Awards for ASL at FACSS 2006

Atlanta (December 5, 2006) — At this years Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) Conference (Orlando, FL, September 24 - 28, 2006) Christina Young and Gary Dobbs have been awarded first and second prize at the FACSS/SAS Poster Competition. Christina’s poster was entitled "Mid-Infrared Hollow Waveguides for Sensing Volatile Organic Pollutants” (Young, Mizaikoff). Gary presented a poster on "Plasma-assisted Deposition of Fluorocarbon Films for Molecular Recognition Layers in Mid-Infrared Attenuated Total Reflection Chemical Sensors" (Dobbs, Balu, Young, Sinha, Hess, Mizaikoff) representing a collaborative effort with the research group of Dennis Hess at the School Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
